The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is offering businesses £3,000 to pay towards upgrading business broadband to a high-speed capable connection.
Full fibre broadband connections offer the fastest and most reliable speeds available, and the government is committed to a vision of a full fibre Britain. As part of this commitment in March 2018 they announced a £67m Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
Businesses can claim up to £3,000 against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project. Residents can benefit from the scheme with a voucher worth £500 as part of a group project.
Who it’s for
Available to SMEs in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
How to apply:
The scheme is only accessible through broadband service providers who have registered.
Businesses/community groups interested in benefitting from a voucher should:
- Check whether they are eligible for a voucher
- Then check whether there are registered suppliers in the area using the postcode search (Businesses/community groups can also talk to existing suppliers to see if they are participating in the scheme).
- Vouchers are issued to the supplier only to offset the cost of the installation to the premises.
